The first response to a disaster is to determine the extent of the problem and how assistance can best be vectored to the area. The ability to launch a high resolution camera that provides geo-located images to remote areas is constantly being requested by DoD, domestic and international relief agencies.
The end to end concept for imagery delivery, coupled with a UAV with long dwell times could guide damage assessments and relief efforts in dangerous and/or remote areas. The cost and the capabilities of the FalconScan System make this an ideal candidate for this application and both domestic and international companies.
Disaster response opportunities include:
- Rapid deployment of aerial reconnaissance
- Change detection capability
- Mapping and extent of fires, floods, and terrorism events
